Roof details above a garage and covered entry
Lennar’s RC Carson is one plan offered in King Ridge: a single-story home with a two-car garage, architectural shingles and an exterior option described with gable and hip rooflines. That is a useful example of how a living-area number leaves out part of the roof’s job. The roof also covers the garage and its connections.
On a home with that kind of roof, raised ridges and hips need cap shingles and sound connections to the slopes. Where roof planes meet in a valley, water from both sides is concentrated into the same path. A wall or covered-entry junction adds its own flashing detail.
We check the detail on your home. A garage-side leak can require a limited repair if its surrounding shingles, deck and flashing remain suitable; damage beneath the covering makes the work wider. The offered plan describes an example, not the current condition or exact layout of every King Ridge roof.
